The 2017 Tuole Forum on "China-ASEAN International Production Capacity Cooperation" was held in the city of Panzhou in Liupanshui, southwest China's Guizhou province on Nov 9.

At the forum, ambassadors and diplomats from Vietnam, Thailand, Malaysia, Laos, Singapore and other ASEAN (Association of Southeast Asian Nations) countries said they expect to deepen China-ASEAN exchanges and cooperation so as to achieve win-win results in the production of capacity investment, highland-featured tourism, and energy and building materials.

Khampao, vice-governor of the Lao Xiangkhouang province, who is also a standing member of the Xiangkhouang Provincial Committee of Lao People's Revolutionary Party (LPRP), said China and Laos are close and friendly neighbors, not only geographically but economically. The Laos-China cooperation in trade, investment, culture, society and tourism has yielded fruitful results. At present, Chinese businesses are the majority of foreign-funded enterprises in Xiangkhouangp province.

Khampao also remarked that his province will prioritize socio-economic development by investing in tourism, agriculture and processing. Khampao hoped that Guizhou and Xiangkhouang provinces could deepen friendly ties and tap into their cooperative potential to create a sound environment for investment.

"Liupanshui deserves promotion because the city holds advantages in eco-tourism resources, cultural heritages, mineral resources, and agriculture produces," said Bong Yik Jui, Consul General of Malaysia in Nanning, capital of south China's Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region.

Bong Yik Jui said the ASEAN personages should use the forum to strengthen economic and people-to-people exchanges with China, create new opportunities, increase mutual trust and benefits, and finally achieve China-ASEAN complementarity.

Pompop Uampidhaya, Consul General of Thailand in Kunming, capital of southwest China's Yunnan province, believed that hosting the forum shows Guizhou province realizes the great importance of cooperation with ASEAN countries. Having advantages over big data, manufacturing, tourism and vocational training, Guizhou is a perfect candidate for ASEAN development.

Pompop said Thailand is ready to join hands with Guizhou in varied fields, while enhancing its connectivity with the ASEAN neighbors and contributing to economic stability, prosperity and sustained development in China and Thailand.

Other ASEAN delegates also shared their insight at the forum. Remarking that, since the establishment of dialogue between China and ASEAN 26 years ago, the two sides have grown to be key economic partners of a mutually dependent nature.

Holding respective advantages over industry, location and openness, both sides unify to deepen mutually beneficial cooperation, jointly cooperate in production capacity, set up an exchange mechanism for common needs, and ensure all economic partnerships are a win-win.
