More than 10 million yuan ($1.45 million) has been invested to build 124 e-commerce facilities in Ceheng county, Qianxinan Bouyei and Miao autonomous prefecture, Guizhou province.

E-commerce facilities are being established to solve a logistic problem known colloquially as the “last kilometer”, referring to dilemmas involved in terminal distribution.

By increasing network coverage and speed, rural residents will be exposed to new online business. Each village in Ceheng county is equipped with an experience center where residents can try out products offline.

The main purpose of these establishments is to boost rural e-commerce. Tea oil from Ceheng county can be sold to customers online nationwide. It is hoped that farmers will soon begin to benefit from e-commerce in the near future.
