Some of the world’s most exciting tourism resorts will be flaunted at the 7th Guiyang Tourism Industry Development Conference in Xiuwen county from Oct 28 to 30.

The conference will explore ways of integrating traditional tourism with culture, sports and agriculture. Yangming Culture Park, Scottish Pasture Tourist Resort and Gupu Kiwi Park are the main scenic spots to be promoted at the conference.

The host, Xiuwen county, was once home to Wang Yangming, a sage of the Ming Dynasty (1368-1644), who set up a famous philosophy school there that stressed the combination of traditional and practical learning. The county is building a theme park about Wang’s life in Guizhou and the park will be opened during the conference. A worship ceremony for Wang will also be held.

The sport-focused Scottish Pasture Tourist Resort will provide interactive displays to showcase its golf, helicopter, hot-air balloon and bicycling facilities. On usual days, visitors can enjoy horse riding, grass skiing and fishing in the resort.

Kiwis produced in Gupu village account for 70 percent of Xiuwen’s total output of the fruit. The village is improving its infrastructure and building parking lot, sightseeing pavilions and inns aimed at developing agricultural tourism.
