Officials and technical experts from ASEAN countries visited the Guiyang Vocational and Technical College's rail transit practice base on Aug 1.

The visit was part of the 9th ASEAN-China Week of Educational Exchange held from Aug 1 to 7. During the week, delegates from ASEAN countries gathered in Guiyang to promote educational exchanges.

The 57 million yuan ($ 8.57 million) practice base was completed in 2015 and includes a lifelike railway platform, metro station and ticketing office. The state-of-the-art center serves as a vocational teaching site for professions relating to urban rail transportation.

Guests were impressed by the advanced technology at the base. Roshanizam Che Pee, training manager of the Malaysian Railway Academy, recorded the scene of students driving locomotives.

The college signed 73 agreements with universities from China and colleges from Thailand, Mongolia, Indonesia and Vietnam. The agreements are all aimed at promoting higher education and deepening mutual cooperation between ASEAN countries.

Guiyang Vocational and Technical College is a public full-time institute located in Guanshanhu district of Guiyang City. One of its teaching goals is to train technicians to specialize in rail transit production, construction, management and services.
