African athletes win International 100km Ultra Trail Challenge

The three-day race of the 2013 Guizhou Tour of Leigong Mountain International 100km Ultra Trail Challenge ended successfully on Sunday in Zhenyuan county of Qiandongnan autonomous prefecture, Guizhou province.

The total length of the race was 105.5 km. Athletes from Ethiopia, Morocco, Kenya and China stood out among the runners and placed in the top three.

Athletes from many countries and regions, including Ethiopia, Morocco, Kenya and China are in the field.

Haftu Tadele Gebremeskel from Ethiopia won the championship for the male group by 5 hr 53 min 42 sec. Female runner, Samira Raif of Morocco, won the women's title in 6 hr 53 min 20 sec.

Zhen Wenrong, a Chinese girl from Yunnan province, took third place with 6 hr 54 min 11 sec in the female team. She was the only Chinese athlete to rank in the top three in the challenge.
