According to Xu, the organizers shall make a list of recommended books for the club members.

For the group's first reading party, held at 7 pm on March 29, Xu recommended Authentic Happiness by Martin Seligman, an American psychologist, educator and author of self-help books.

"Pingtan is embracing its economic boom and we hope people in the city are seeking their own authentic happiness, so we recommended this book," said Xu.

As a co-organizer of the reading party, Pingtan FTZ Cross-Straits Devlopment Co provided the venue and related equipment.

"Reading is a meaningful thing to do. We shall try our best to coordinate with the organizers, creating an enriched cultural life for Taiwan compatriots and nurturing a good reading environment in Pingtan," said Chen Qin, a representative of the company.
