With a theme of “New Fujian, New Opportunity, New Cooperation”, the event introduced Fujian’s strategic planning and changing economic growth pattern, and looks forward to cooperation with Hong Kong in trade, finance, culture, services and science.

The 15 project deals covered all nine prefecture-level cities and the Pingtan Comprehensive Pilot Zone in Fujian, and ranged from advanced manufacturing to modern agriculture.

Fujian and Hong Kong have long maintained close ties, and Hong Kong remains an important source of investment for Fujian. Now that Fujian has been designated as the core area of the country’s modern maritime Silk Road, there will be more opportunities for Hong Kong to provide financing, infrastructure and other services, said Carrie Lam, Chief Secretary for Administration of Hong Kong Government.

Hong Kong is experienced at building an international free trade port and leads in electronic information and equipment manufacturing, said You Quan, Fujian’s Party chief, adding that Fujian hopes to deepen cooperation with Hong Kong by combining experiences and resources.
