On April 9, Lin Zhikun, deputy Mayor and the City’s Public Security Bureau Director went on a tour of inspection of Beicun Village, along with Ni Chenchen, the Deputy County Secretary and a member of the CPC Pingnan Committee.

Mr. Lin was impressed by the time-honored structures, and inventive designs, such as the underground system, of the traditional houses in Beicun Village. He pointed out the repairs should never be performed at the expense of the original architectural style, which are much valued together with the well-preserved natural environment and community ethos. He encouraged the villagers to make concerted and creative efforts to implement the key projects for better maintenance and future development.

Mr. Lin also inspected the construction of new houses—part of the “Housing Improvement Project” in the village. He pointed out that no efforts should be spared in the resettlement work to ensure the people’s livelihood, security and happiness.
