Pingnan establishes edible mushroom association

The local authorities established the Pingnan Edible Mushroom Association in Pingnan county, Longyan city, Fujian province, on Jan 3, and the move has been hailed as a milestone in the development of the industry. 

Ruan Sichun, deputy head of Pingnan, Shen Jiukuan, vice-chairman of the CPPCC Pingnan committee, Gao Rong, head of the Pingnan Agriculture Bureau, Li Xinsheng, head of the Pingnan Civil Affairs Bureau, Wu Zhide, president of Fujian Countryside Food Co, Lu Wenming, president of Fujian Dalin Ecological-Agriculture Co, and farmers who are known for their expertise in the field of edible mushrooms, attended the opening ceremony.

Gao was named president of the association – which has 36 members - and Shen was chosen as vice-president. Ruan made several suggestions concerning the development of the industry.

He advised those involved in the field of edible mushrooms to build famous brands and to focus on industrialization, and to work with the new association to achieve standardized, scientific and intensified production.
