Lectures offer ideas for development of rural tourism

More than 160 officials - including the Party chiefs and publicity officials from all the towns in Pingnan, Fujian province - attended a seminar in the county given by three rural tourism specialists from Taiwan on Dec 17, as part of their three-day tour in Pingnan.

At the invitation of the provincial Civil Service Bureau, Tourism Bureau and Fujian Agriculture and Forestry University, three Taiwan experts - Zheng Jianxiong, head of the college of management at Asia University, Chen Guoming a professor at National Chi Nan University, and Wu Zhenghe of Providence University - visited villages and gave lectures on subjects such as brand building for rural tourism, development of special dishes for tourists and how to develop commercial areas in towns.
