Historical moment: The transmigration of time

In January 1906, Japanese scholar Kiroku Adachi was invited to teach at the Shaanxi Higher Learning Institute. From 1906 to 1910, in his spare time, he visited the nearby historical sites in Xi'an and made surveys and investigations. Combined with research on the historical literature of ancient dynasties including the Han and Tang dynasties, he shoot many precious photos about the historical sites, including the Daoism temples, monasteries and ancient steles. After extensive studies and receiving guidance from Dr. Jitsuzo Kuwabara, a Japanese expert on East-West transportation history, Adachi published the book of "Chang’an Historical Relics" in 1933.
