Muslim neighborhood is a form of organization in China's Muslim society. It is a system adapted to the development of Islam and the native culture in China. It integrates the political system of the Islamic states with that of China.

Muslim neighborhood is an independent Muslim community with a mosque as its center. Its characteristics are neighborhoods are independent from, and disconnected from each other; and usually the only mosque acts as the center for religious, political, economic, cultural, civil and social activities. Religious affairs and internal affairs of a mosque are separated from, and at the same time, related to each other. It is a form of social organization in China's Muslim regions. It is not only a religious system in which Muslims conduct their religious activities, but also the basis for various peoples believing in Islam to become a national community.
