Terrill said Xi's book on Chinese governance has been published all over the world, and brought out more and more influence. Through this book, foreign readers learn more about China.

“Some of Xi's exposition is really impressive. For example, he once said 'we must have the spirit of driving in a nail.' As we know, it is impossible to finish the process by only one strike, but keep on knocking until the nail is tightly clenched. It means that if we keep on solving a variety of problems, we can make a big difference in the society. It reminds me of Mao Zedong's metaphor of 'use all the 10 fingers when you play the piano.' They are both vivid metaphors," Terrill said.
