Editor's note: In the past three years, President Xi Jinping and US President Barack Obama have held private talks on several occasions in both countries. The following is a list of such private meetings.
1. Sunnylands, California (June 2013)
Xi, as newly elected president, stops on his way home from a tour of Latin America at the Sunnylands estate in California, where he and Obama have a "no-tie" meeting for more than eight hours, including a one-hour, one-on-one walk. Obama presents Xi with a gift of a bench made from California redwood.
