Young neon light installer's bittersweet life

Wei Tao, 28, came from Southwest China's Guizhou province to work as a neon light installer in Ningbo city, East China's Zhejiang province.

He spends most of the daytime on high buildings in the city. In summer, Wei often prefers working as early as possible to escape the heat around noon, or he has to work under a higher temperature than the ground temperature since he is high above the ground.

Besides the high temperature, Wei also has to be careful during the working hours though he has safety belts and ropes, because a small mistake can put him or passersby in danger.

When he once saw someone fall down from a four-story-high scaffold, it made him worried. "I was afraid at that time and wanted to change my job, even my family tried to persuade me. However, I am not willing to give up the career after seeing the beautiful buildings decorated with neon lights."
