Wuhan holds Yangtze River crossing competition

The 42th International Yangtze River Crossing Activity was held in Wuhan, Hubei province, on July 16, 2015. This sports event, which is held every year, marks Chairman Mao Zedong's swim across the Yangtze River in Wuhan on July 16, 1966.

The competition is divided into two parts - individual race and team race. The distance of individual race is about 1,800 meters from Hanyangmen in Wuchang to Nan'anzui in Hanyang. The distance of team race is about 6,000 meters from Hanyangmen in Wuchang to Sanyang Square in Hankou. The event drew international swimmers from Germany, Sweden and Russia.
