Three fishermen drown in Shaanxi

Three fishermen drowned last week in Shaanxi province after they were dragged under by a fishing net.

The three, a 50-year-old man surnamed Li, his son and a relative, were from Jiufanggou village in Hengshan county, the Hushang Daily reported.

The three men went to a reservoir in the village on Tuesday to fish without permission from the reservoir management.

Police said that the three men died around 4 pm after their net, with a catch weighing more than 100 kg of fish, dragged them under.

Their bodies were found on Wednesday by their families.

The reservoir management promised to provide financial aid to the their families.
