Pan Shiyi, a real estate tycoon in Beijing, has become a special supervisor for courts in the capital, according to the Beijing News.

Pan was one of 300 people from different walks of life invited to be special court supervisors by the Beijing High People's Court on Thursday.

"I won't create any trouble for courts with issues pertaining to my personal life or my company. Instead, I will help those who have been wronged. I will do my utmost to contribute to social and legal advances," he said in his micro blog.

The Beijing High People's Court started the special supervisor system in 1998. People from different fields have served as special supervisors for terms of three years.

In a ceremony held on Thursday, Mu Ping, president of the court, expressed his hopes that the special supervisors could provide courts in Beijing with more constructive ideas to improve their work.
