A survey from, one of the country's largest online matchmaking websites, showed that 11 percent of single people in China are in Guangdong province, making it the place with the most single inhabitants, but those single people in the province said they are too busy with work. Beijing and Jiangsu province also made the top three places for single people, reported.

Beijing ranks tops with the most single women in China, according to the survey.

The number of single men and women in some regions is in great disparity: The male to female ratio is 78:22 in Yunnan province. The gender ratio in Henan province: Single men account for 74 percent, and single women only 26 percent.

According to the National Bureau of Statistics of China, in 2012, 117 boys were born for every 100 girls, a skewed sex ratio that is higher than ever before. And about 249 million people are of marriageable age - at least 20 for women, and 22 for men - in China, accounting for one-fifth of the total population.
