XI'AN - A railway in Northwest China's Shaanxi province on which a cargo freight derailed on Friday morning resumed service on Friday evening after 10 hours of closure, according to the local railway bureau.

By 7:25 pm, the section of the Baocheng Railway, a rail trunk linking Baoji city in Shaanxi and Chengdu in Southwest China's Sichuan province, had been repaired and was ready to be reopened, said the spokesman.

At about 9:30 am, a freight train derailed in a tunnel on the section between Qingshiya and Qinling Mountain, with no casualties caused. Some passenger trains were delayed as a result of the closure.

Local railway authorities allotted over 700 rescuers to move the derailed train and repair the railway line.
