Yang Jiansong, 36, a resident of Mengla county, Yunnan province, has been raising a python for the past 14 years.

The reptile now measures 4.6 m in length, and weighs 62 kg. Its abdomen is 54 cm.

"I got nine eggs from my neighbor in June 1994 and nine snakes were hatched. My neighbors took seven of the snakes, and now my pet is the only one left," Yang said.

The python needs to eat eight ducks at a time at least twice a month, which has placed a burden on Yang.

He hopes to find a job that will allow him to work with the snake, such as posing for pictures with tourists.
