"Powerful" and "towering" are words often used to describe the Range Rover. But now, people can add "long" to the list, thanks to the Chinese market's hunger for long-wheelbase vehicles.

Jaguar Land Rover will unveil a new version of its flagship off-road vehicle-the long-wheelbase Range Rover-at this year's Guangzhou Auto Show, marking the model's China premiere.

This is the first time the British premium carmaker is offering a long-wheelbase Range Rover model in 20 years, giving consumers an alternative to the traditional long-wheelbase saloon cars in this segment.

The new addition to the Range Rover family is 5.2 meters in length.

It has longer rear doors and more rear legroom space, which allows back seat passengers to enjoy greater comfort.

In addition, the long-wheelbase model is also equipped with powered side-door blinds, a panoramic sunroof and increased stowage as standard.

The distinctive Range Rover side outline has been retained to ensure that it is instantly recognizable, the company said.

Visitors at the international auto exhibition in Guangzhou can also expect to be impressed by Jaguar's first sports crossover concept vehicle, the C-X17.

The new Jaguar concept vehicle blends the sleek design and sporting performance that are hallmarks of Jaguar, with the crossover benefits of an assured driving position and high levels of practicality.

The C-X17 concept was created as a design study to introduce Jaguar's new highly advanced aluminium monocoque architecture named iQ, which will form the basis for a new range of future Jaguar vehicles.
