Chinese shares close higher on Monday

BEIJING -- Chinese shares closed higher on Monday with the benchmark Shanghai Composite Index up 0.43 percent, or 9.63 points, to finish at 2,237.77.

The Shenzhen Component Index increased 0.25 percent, or 22.13 points, to finish at 8,760.10.
