China's non-manufacturing purchasing managers' index in June was 56.7, up 1.5 of a percentage point from that in May, according to data from the National Bureau of Statistics released on Tuesday.

The non-manufacturing PMI is based on a survey of 1,200 companies in 27 industries, including construction, air transportation and wholesaling. A PMI figure above 50 means expansion while below 50 indicates contraction.

The growth shows the sector's business activities revived last month.

China's official May non-manufacturing PMI showed a slight fall to 55.2 from 56.1 in April and 58 in March, representing a declining pace of growth in the sector.

In terms of industries, the business activity index of the construction industry was 58.1 in June, down 1.1 of a percentage point against May. The business activity index of the service industry was 56.3, up 2.1 percentage points on May.

Industries including postage, Internet, software information and technology services, broadcast and TV, satellite transmission, leasing and business services and rail transportation all had an index of above 59 for their business activities in June.

Compared with the previous month, the business volume of industries including accommodation, road transportation and retail decreased month-on-month in June, according to the NBS.
