12 dead, 1 missing in mudslide in Jiangxi province

Twelve people have been confirmed dead and one remains missing as of 6 pm on Tuesday following a mudslide in Suichuan county, Jiangxi province, Xinhua News Agency reported.
The dead included one person who had been newly identified as missing during a follow-up search, according to Xinhua.
Rescue teams are further strengthening search and rescue efforts.
The mudslide occurred around 4 am on Saturday in Mingkeng village, Gaoping township of Suichuan, triggered by days of torrential rain brought on by Typhoon Saudel, the 18th typhoon of the year.
