CAIRO -- President Xi Jinping and Egyptian President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi reiterated that the Palestinian question remains at the core of the Middle East issue, and that a just and lasting settlement to the question should be based on the two-state solution, said a joint statement on Wednesday.
In the statement, the two heads of state also reaffirmed support for the establishment of an independent State of Palestine that enjoys full sovereignty based on the 1967 border and with East Jerusalem as its capital.
During Xi's state visit to Egypt, the two countries released the joint statement on further deepening their comprehensive strategic partnership.
