Interview with Actor Zheng Yunlong: Making the First Attempt Actually Requires Some Courage
As a musical theater actor, Zheng Yunlong has drawn on his stage experience while adapting it to the different demands of television, especially in his latest work, the TV series The Trembling of Cicada.
"(Crossing over into different fields) is actually not very easy, especially since I'm completely unfamiliar with these other areas of art." Zheng said, adding that he wants to break through his own limits.
He also cited a production of Hamlet, in which he performed last year, as an example. "During the performance in the cross-cultural context, you can definitely feel the cultural differences," but he said cross-cultural communication can be strengthened by finding emotional connections that resonate with people from different backgrounds.
Zheng said that actually he hesitated to leave his comfort zone sometimes, "but I feel that if you truly want to live without regrets, or are not so afraid of failure, why not muster up courage and give it a try?" he added.
