China is willing to work with the United States to act on the strategic guidance of the two heads of state, boost dialogue and communication, expand mutually beneficial cooperation and properly manage differences, Premier Li Qiang said on Tuesday in Beijing during a meeting with a delegation of the Board of Directors of the US-China Business Council, led by its board chair Ryan McInerney.

The two sides should promote the building of a constructive China-US relationship of strategic stability and strive for more practical achievements, Li said.

In May, President Xi Jinping and US President Donald Trump held a meeting in Beijing and reached important consensus, Li said, adding that with the joint efforts of both sides, bilateral relations have remained generally stable.

McInerney and other members of the delegation said that US-China relations are the most important bilateral relationship in the world today, and the US-China Business Council is willing to play a bridging role to enhance mutual understanding, mutual trust and cooperation between the two countries.

Li said that China will work to address reasonable concerns of US companies operating in China and safeguard a level playing field in accordance with the law.

He also called on the US to work with China in the same direction, address China's concerns with concrete actions, and jointly implement the outcomes of the bilateral economic and trade consultations.

Given the large scale of China-US economic and trade cooperation, it is normal that some differences and friction arise, he said, adding that solutions can always be found as long as the two sides respect and understand each other and strengthen communication and consultation.

Strengthening cooperation is an inherent need of both sides and the right choice, he said, adding that China welcomes US companies to step up their efforts to expand and deepen their presence in the Chinese market.

He expressed hope that the US-China Business Council will further leverage its influence to guide various sectors in the US to view China's development rationally and objectively.
