Peng Liyuan attends event for spouses of leaders during SCO summit
BISHKEK -- Peng Liyuan, wife of President Xi Jinping, attended on Tuesday morning an event organized by Aigul Japarova, wife of Kyrgyz President Sadyr Japarov, for spouses of leaders attending the Shanghai Cooperation Organization Summit 2026.
Upon arriving at the Ala-Archa State Residence, Peng was warmly greeted by Japarova. Peng and spouses of leaders from relevant countries viewed an exhibition on the ethnic culture of Kyrgyzstan and posed for group photos, before watching a stage performance at the Enesay Reception House.
Peng said the performance was wonderful and praised the performers for their outstanding artistry. She extended invitations to artists of Kyrgyzstan to visit China for more performances and cultural exchanges so as to give Chinese audiences a closer look at the country's rich ethnic culture.
