Former Iraqi president: Nations must take human rights seriously

"We have too many wars in the world. And where is human rights? Children are killed every day. We have to be more involved and make every nation take human rights very seriously," said former Iraqi president Abdul Latif Rashid at the 2026 Forum on Global Human Rights Governance held in Beijing on Thursday.

The forum brought together more than 400 Chinese and foreign guests from nearly 100 countries and international and regional organizations.
