Art project fuses technology, imagination at Guangdong Museum of Art
A cutting-edge mixed-reality art project titled "SURREALITY", by the Center for Metaverse and Computational Creativity (MC²) at the Hong Kong University of Science and Technology (Guangzhou), has been presented at the Guangdong Museum of Art (Bai'etan).
The installation features a digital whale swimming through the gallery and a virtual gateway linking the museum to the HKUST (GZ) campus, offering an immersive experience where art, technology, and education converge.
The project reflects HKUST (GZ)'s cross-disciplinary innovation and highlights the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area's pioneering exploration in shaping the future of tech-driven art. The next iteration, "SURREALITY 2.0", will be jointly staged across both the HKUST (GZ) and HKUST campuses.
