Heavy snow, rain forecast across China
Heavy snow is expected to blanket parts of northern China from Wednesday through Friday, while rain is forecast for southern China, according to the National Meteorological Center.
The center predicts light to moderate snow, with heavy falls in some areas in North and Northeast China, as well as the Xinjiang Uygur autonomous region, until Friday.
On Wednesday, dense fog covered several areas, including Hebei, Shandong, and Henan provinces, with visibility in some locations dropping below 200 meters.
From Tuesday morning to Wednesday morning, eastern Inner Mongolia autonomous region and Northeast China experienced temperature drops of 6 C to 10 C, with some areas seeing decreases of over 12 C.
The weather system is also bringing rain to southern parts of the country from Wednesday through Saturday, with heavy downpours forecast for the northeast of Hainan province on Wednesday.
