International knives and scissors fair kicks off in Yangjiang


With a history of more than 1,400 years of producing knives and scissors, Yangjiang has become known as a "capital of knives and scissors", and has formed a large-scale hardware, knives and scissors industrial cluster with a complete industrial chain and diverse product categories.
According to official statistics, Yangjiang's annual hardware, knives and scissors industrial production has exceeded 55 billion yuan ($7.86 billion). Yangjiang now produces eight out of every 10 knife and scissors products that China exports to the rest of the world.
In 2024, Yangjiang's export of hardware and cutting tools to the countries involved in BRI, and Regional Comprehensive Economic Partnership (RCEP) member countries, increased by 2.3 percent and 8.5 percent, respectively. Domestic e-commerce sales reached 9.93 billion yuan, while cross-border e-commerce transactions hit 2.93 billion yuan, both achieving double-digit growth year-on-year.
The city's hardware, knives and scissors products are now sold to more than 130 countries and regions worldwide.
