The "Cosmic Echoes - The Three-Body Problem's Overseas 10-Year Impact Release Conference" was recently held in Zhengzhou in Henan province, Aug 22. Author Liu Cixin, along with over 400 publishing experts, scholars, and avid readers from around the globe, gathered to reflect on the novel's decade-long journey and discuss the future of Chinese science fiction on the global stage.

Since the English version was first published in 2014, the 2015 Hugo Award-winner has been released in 42 languages, with foreign-language sales reaching 6.5 million copies. It has become one of contemporary China’s most translated and highest-selling literary works overseas.

Liu noted that the success of The Three-Body Problem stems from science fiction’s narrative power to portray a "shared human identity" and the "sense of futurism" brought by China’s modernization. The synergy of epochal momentum and literary resonance has together forged this world-class cultural phenomenon.
