Five people die in Wuzhou building fire

A fire broke out in a residential building in Wuzhou city, Guangxi Zhuang autonomous region, on Sunday morning, resulting in the deaths of five people, local authorities said.
The fire started at around 8:30 am, according to a statement from the Longxu district's emergency management bureau in Wuzhou.
Following the fire's outbreak, local authorities tasked fire, emergency, public security and health departments to the scene to rescue those trapped, the statement added.
An investigation into the cause of the fire has now begun.
