Three injured in Wuhan University stabbing incident
Three people were injured in a stabbing incident that occurred at a canteen of Wuhan University in Wuhan, Hubei province, on Wednesday afternoon, according to a statement released by the Hongshan district branch of the Wuhan Public Security Bureau on Friday.
The incident took place at around 5 pm, police responded swiftly and coordinated with university staff and emergency medical services to provide immediate aid. The injured were later transported to a hospital and are reportedly in stable condition with no life-threatening signs.
The suspect, identified as Zhu, a 23-year-old male student at the university, was placed under arrest at the scene.
The preliminary investigation found that Zhu committed violence due to academic difficulties. He has confessed to the attack.
Criminal compulsory measures have been taken against Zhu as the investigation continues.
