To meet growing travel demand, a temporary direct passenger train has been arranged between Hekou North Station in Yunnan province's Hekou county, which borders Vietnam, and Dali and Yangbi stations in western Yunnan on Wednesday and Thursday, according to China Railway Kunming Group.

The move comes as an increasing number of Vietnamese tourists head to popular destinations in western Yunnan, the group said.

The C4214 departs from Hekou North at 3:25 pm before arriving at Dali Station at 10:37 pm. It terminates at Yangbi Station at 11:03 pm without transfers.

This new service offers a convenient rail link between the border city of Hekou and the western part of the province, reducing travel time for Vietnamese tourists. After entering China via the Hekou border checkpoint, they can board the train at Hekou North and reach Dali on the same day, which enhances comfort and efficiency, according to the group.

The company will flexibly adjust train operations based on inbound passenger flow in the future, the group said.
