BEIJING - China's Sun Yingsha continues to showcase her dominance with a record-high 11,900 points as the International Table Tennis Federation (ITTF) updated its world rankings on Tuesday.

Sun earned 2,000 points from her victory at the recently concluded World Table Tennis Championships in Doha, beating the previous mark of 11,300 points she set in February. In October 2024, she became the first paddler to exceed the 10,000-point mark.

The ITTF applied changes to its world ranking regulations in 2022, as the world ranking of a player is essentially composed of the sum of the points of the best eight results achieved in the last 12 months.

Sun was joined by teammates Wang Manyu, Chen Xingtong, Wang Yidi and Kuai Man in the women's singles top five, followed by the Japanese quartet of Miwa Harimoto, Mima Ito, Hina Hayata and Satsuki Odo. Shin Yu-bin of South Korea rounded out the top ten.

China's Lin Shidong and Wang Chuqin led the men's singles category. The Doha worlds beaten finalist Hugo Calderano of Brazil sat third, while other top-10 men's paddlers included Japan's Tomokazu Harimoto, Liang Jingkun of China, Truls Moregard of Sweden, Frenchman Felix Lebrun, China's Xiang Peng, Alexis Lebrun of France and Slovenia's Darko Jorgic.

Chinese paddlers also claimed top spots in other two categories. Doha winners Wang Manyu/Kuai Man led women's doubles, while Lin Shidong/Kuai Man and Wang Chuqin/Sun Yingsha were the top two pairs in mixed doubles.

Meanwhile, Alexis/Felix Lebrun occupied the men's doubles leading position.
