Senior political adviser under investigation

Qi Zhala, a senior political adviser and former chairman of Xizang autonomous regional government, is being investigated for suspected serious violations of the Party disciplines and national laws, China's top anti-corruption watchdogs announced on Thursday.

The announcement has been disclosed by the Communist Party of China Central Commission for Discipline Inspection and the National Commission of Supervision online, with no more details provided.

Qi, a member of the Standing Committee of the 14th National Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference, worked in Yunnan province and the Xizang autonomous region for decades.

Also deputy head of the CPPCC National Committee's Committee on Agriculture and Rural Areas, the 66-year-old Tibetan, from Yunnan, served as chairman of the Xizang autonomous regional government between 2017 and 2021.
