Line 11, the first subway loop line in Guangzhou, the capital of Guangdong province, is scheduled to commence operations at 2 pm on Saturday after completing construction and passing inspection, the Guangzhou Metro Group said on Wednesday. The line doubles as the first circular metro line in the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area.

The loop line is 44.2 kilometers long and has 31 stations, of which 26 are transfers.
The line traverses the five central districts of the city, connecting with the existing nine subway lines and transferring to seven lines that are currently under construction or in the planning stage.
