KFC Guangzhou, which operates in 16 cities in Guangdong province, hit a new milestone with its 1,000th restaurant opened on Thursday.
A new Kcoffee Cafe, the 100th in Guangdong, was also opened alongside the new restaurant in Guangzhou's Yuexiu district.
Guangdong has stood in the lead in the country for economic and social development and innovation. The catering industry has seen robust development there, said Warton Wang, general manager of KFC China, at the opening ceremony.
Amid heated competition, KFC Guangzhou has carried out innovation consistently and made breakthroughs, he said.
