China expects double-digit growth in holiday travelers

The average daily number of inbound and outbound travelers during the National Day holiday is expected to reach 1.75 million, an increase of 18.5 percent compared to the same period last year, according to the National Immigration Administration's forecast issued on Friday.
It is anticipated that the peak flow of inbound and outbound travelers will mainly concentrate on Oct 1 and 6.
The traveler flow at major international airports is steadily increasing, with the daily average number of inbound and outbound travelers expected to reach 43,000 at Beijing Capital International Airport, 83,000 at Shanghai Pudong International Airport, 45,000 at Guangzhou Baiyun International Airport, Guangdong province, and 17,000 at Chengdu Tianfu International Airport, Sichuan province.
The traveler flow at adjacent land ports to Hong Kong and Macao special administrative regions will remain high, with the daily average number of inbound and outbound travelers projected to reach 320,000 at Gongbei port, 104,000 at Qingmao port, 81,000 at the Hong Kong-Zhuhai-Macao Bridge port, and 75,000 at Hengqin port. All the four ports are located in Zhuhai, Guangdong.
In addition, the daily average number of inbound and outbound travelers at Shenzhen's Luohu, Futian, Shenzhen Bay, and the Guangzhou-Shenzhen-Hong Kong High-Speed Rail West Kowloon Station ports is expected to reach 199,000, 173,000, 118,000, and 89,000, respectively.
