BEIJING - A special campaign has been launched to ensure safety and smooth traffic at major train stations in Beijing, and its adjacent Tianjin municipality and Hebei province, according to Beijing railway police.
As part of this campaign, Beijing railway police have teamed up with public security departments, railway enterprises and traffic management units across the three regions to conduct patrols and inspections at 45 passenger train stations.
The authorities have conducted over 60 joint law enforcement operations, clearing more than 5,100 long-parked vehicles near train stations and penalizing 207 traffic offenses.
Summer is typically a peak travel season for trains in China, driven by the two-month summer holiday for students.
