CHANGSHA -- Another dike breach occurred in the Juanshui River in Central China's Hunan province at about 1:40 pm on Monday, local authorities said.

The breach in Hekou township of Xiangtan county has widened to more than 30 meters, according to the provincial emergency management center.

Relocation of residents and emergency rescue operations are currently underway.

Two other dike breaches had been reported on Sunday.

China's Ministry of Emergency Management said on Saturday that Hunan would experience heavy rainstorms and parts of the province would see "extremely heavy rainstorms from Saturday evening to Monday" due to the impact of Typhoon Gaemi.
