Shanghai appoints 10 govt counselors

The Shanghai municipal government held an appointment ceremony for 10 government counselors on March 13.
During the ceremony, Shanghai Mayor Gong Zheng presented appointment letters to three reappointed counselors and seven newly appointed members.
Established in 1951, the Shanghai Office of Government Counselors has been instrumental in political consultation, providing policy advice, democratic supervision, and fostering unity and friendship.
In 2023, the office focused on the city's comprehensive development and core tasks, delivering valuable insights through 33 counselor work reports and proposing 252 amendments to 15 laws and regulations.
