Two dead after construction cave-in in Guangzhou

Two workers died in a cave-in accident during an excavation at a construction site in Liwan district of Guangzhou, Guangdong province, according to the district emergency management bureau.

The accident occurred near Dongjiaobei road on Tuesday afternoon. The two workers were trapped and sent to the hospital but did not survive, according to a statement from the bureau issued on Wednesday.

An investigation into the accident is underway.
