Xiaomi opens new factory in Beijing
Chinese smartphone maker Xiaomi has put into operation a new factory in Beijing's Changping district. The new facility, located in Xiaomi's industrial park in Changping, covers 81,000 square meters and can produce around 10 million handsets annually. It is also equipped with cutting-edge intelligent manufacturing technology. Most of the work at the factory will be done by robotic systems, ensuring round-the-clock operations.
Tianjin's cross-border e-commerce trade up
The port city of Tianjin reported a total cross-border e-commerce foreign trade value of 35.6 billion yuan ($5.01 billion) in 2023, up 16.72 percent year-on-year, according to the municipal bureau of commerce. During the period, the city's cross-border e-commerce imports reached 6.83 billion yuan, up 12.06 percent year-on-year, while exports hit 28.77 billion yuan, marking a year-on-year growth of 17.89 percent.
Auto exports soar 47.4% in January
China's automobile exports jumped 47.4 percent year-on-year in January, industry data showed. A total of 443,000 vehicles were exported during the period, according to the China Association of Automobile Manufacturers. In breakdown, some 369,000 passenger vehicles were exported, surging 47.5 percent year-on-year.
