Annual plenary session of CPPCC Shanghai Committee concludes
The annual plenary session of the Shanghai Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference, the city's political advisory body, successfully completed its agenda and concluded on Thursday.
Hu Wenrong, chairman of the CPPCC Shanghai committee, said that the meeting focused on the major tasks of Shanghai and the major measures implemented by Shanghai. CPPCC members conducted in-depth consultations and discussions on the city's development and built consensus extensively.
"The meeting also fully demonstrated the unique advantages and vitality of whole-process people's democracy," he said.
A total of 1,201 proposals were received from the CPPCC members during this year's plenary session. They covered the city's economic, political, cultural, social, ecological and other aspects.
