Carbon monoxide poisoning kills one, hospitalizes two in Henan

According to local authorities, one person died, and two others were hospitalized after a carbon monoxide poisoning incident happened on Thursday at a steamed bun shop in Yichuan county, Henan province.
An investigation revealed that the limited space and poor ventilation in the shop led to the victims fainting, which was caused by carbon monoxide poisoning, local authorities said on Friday.
A report by Beijing News said that four medical workers were dispatched to the scene for rescue operations after the incident. Two of them fainted on-site and were subsequently transported to a hospital, while the other two medical personnel collapsed after returning to the hospital.
Local authorities also confirmed that the two hospitalized employees and the medical personnel who experienced discomfort due to oxygen deprivation during the rescue process have recovered well and are not in any severe condition.
Authorities in Yichuan have formed a joint task force comprising multiple departments to investigate the incident and manage the aftermath.
