Jiangcheng county, Yunnan province, held a cow body painting competition on Saturday.
The competition attracted participants from China, Vietnam and Laos, who painted interesting patterns on 45 water buffalo.
A buffalo from a local company won first place. Hu Chuanyu, one of the company's staff, said one side of the buffalo depicts people's happy life in the three countries. The other side depicts high-speed trains, cargo ships, airplanes, rubber and the nations' joint efforts in the Belt and Road Initiative.
